Agitator is a machine which is used to mix and stir all kinds of raw material into the right consistency or a certain mixture. There are many types of agitators, such as forced action mixer, single horizontal-axis mixer and twin-shaft mixer. It is widely used in chemical products like painting, printing ink, and pigment, adhesive and so on. Agitator is a compact and rational combination of the hydraulic system, main drive, stirring system and guide mechanism.

Construction Scheme

Agitators are widely used in manufacturing process of industries like chemical and medicine. It has showed its inefficieny in many cases.

Here are some problems of the former system applied in Shilong Chemical Co., LTD.

1.    Even though the Y-Δ start is used in the main motor, the starting current is still fairly large. There is a negative influence on the grid’s stability and other equipment’s operation safety.

2.    The frequency operation of the main motor is not economic, power is wasted seriously.

3.    The big noise of agitator caused by the main motor’s frequency operation.

4.    The large impact on equipments results in high wearing of the motor bearing. And that caused a tedious work in maintenance.

Construction Comparison

The good performance and advantages after reconstruction:

1.    The application of inverter minimized the energy demand.

2.    Thanks to the reducing of vibration, noise and wearing resulted in operation at lowered speed and soft start-up, the maintance cycle and service life are prolonged, the MTBF value has improved, the impact on grid is reduced and the system stability has improved.

3.    The running rate and safe reliability are greatly improved with protection meatures provied by the system.

4.    The closed circuit control system with frequency conversion for adjusting speed and the control system for power frequency are interlocked. There will be no effect on the operation of the former system and the former control system can still operate normally under system maintance or breakdown.

Conclusion

The application of inverter can meet the using needs and minimize the energy demand at the same time.
